Abstract


This research is conducted on the basis of the low ability of the students' ecoliteracy through the utilization of waste-based toys as a medium of learning based on the experience and knowledge of the learners. The purpose of this research is to improve the reuse and recycle through the use of waste-based toys as media. This research was conducted using Explicit Intruction learning model. This research also uses research method that is Classroom Action Research (PTK) in class IIIA SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta, Purwakarta. Ecoliteracy indicator used is indicator of the center for ecoliteracy (2011, in Supriatna 2016) in which there are aspects of understanding (head / cognitive), attitude (heart / emotional), liveliness (hands / active), and spirit (connectional) . Classroom Action Research is done three cycles. The results of this study indicate that the application of Explicit Intruction learning model can improve the ecoliteracy of learners in utilizing waste into toys made or toys that can be reused (reuse) and recycle (recycle) as a medium of learning. In this study the creativity of learners need to be developed again, especially the potential of the region.
